How did I start my writing journey? What prompted me to write a book?

Okay...

This is an interesting story.

Maybe.

You see, it was 2020—August, I think. To set the scene, I was in my living room, on our now given-away swing—I think I was in my Famous Five phase at this time...hence why my first book started off as a mystery—and I wanted a new book, but I go through them like water [I like finishing them within 3-4 days! I’m an impatient person!] so of course, there’s limits to how many new books I can get. So anyway, I wanted a new book, but that wasn't possible, so I thought—“Hey! Why don't I just write one? How hard can it be?!” [See me from five years in the future giving her a side eye]

I wrote two chapters.

And gave up.

I picked it back up again months later, and wrote a grand total of...drumroll please...ONE PAGE!

Yep.

And then gave up for some more months.

THEN. FINALLY. I don’t remember the middle stuff very clearly—basically I wrote about 3000-something words by around the end of 2023—BUT—I do remember that by the end of October 31st, 2024, I had written EXACTLY 5000 words! And then I signed up for a writing challenge in the month of November, where I wrote 5049 more! And that was the end of the first draft. [which was 12 chapters and a Mary Sue, btw]

Soooo…that’s the first draft, ig. Where it all began.
